Creation Pours Out Knowledge about God

It’s important for us to be students who diligently study God’s Word, but it’s also a gift to us and glorifies God to study what He has made. It all points to Him and magnifies His greatness.

Psalm 19 is known as the Psalm that teaches about both of God’s books – His Word and His Creation.

Psalm 111:2 says Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in Him.

One aspect of Solomon’s wisdom – the wisest man to live – was to talk about natural history because it’s part of the glory of God. 1 Kings 4:31-34

Ask the beasts and they will teach you! Job 12:7-10

God has made us to love beauty and He made beautiful things – in fact, He was lavish in His design and creation. And we get to know Him by studying it a bit more.

Benefits in Studying God’s Creation

Studying God’s creation helps us be better apologists!

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” 1 Peter 3:15

One of the ways to become a better apologist is to have an excellent foundation of creation. Many people who argue against God have been steeped in secular humanism and science.

First it’s important that our foundation is Scripture. Scripture is true and Genesis 1-11 lays the foundation for creation, marriage, children, history. Study creation through the lens of Scripture and our eyes will be opened to how cohesive what we can observe is to what is written.

“When you don’t raise up kids who can defend their faith – give an answer for the hope they have – they are going to be consumed by culture.” – Ken Ham
